April Ross

April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball stars who won medals during multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with Ross at Tokyo for her third gold medal in the next few days. But more than that, Ross is aiming to capture her first Olympic gold. As she is 39, it may be her last shot. The athlete is optimistic she can achieve top honors. Ross was mentioned by NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your highest, and even do well, we'll get the gold. Also, I'll take the chance to have luck. Ross born August 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She lived there together with her parents. The athletic pursuits she pursued continued at Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of activities. When she was a student in the prep school, she competed in the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running track. In her final game, she clearly stood out. The college bio says that she played outside of the hitter, middle blocker, as well as a setter in her volleyball playing career in high school. Her efforts were recognized by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Player of the Year. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might have begun working together in the year 2017, however Ross was an experienced athlete at the beach prior to when they joined forces. She has won major events twice, with various partners. A couple of those has become an iconic player in the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to the year 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships in 2009. They were awarded a silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team which won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took them out to win the gold. It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. In 2016, the pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a player for the Trojans of USC in her college after graduating from in high school. The Trojans had a great performance for Ross during her time at the school. The year 2000 was her freshman year. earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of the Year awards and be an All-American. Her Trojans made it to the Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her sophomore years, yet she was able to make it an All-American in her second year. In her last two seasons with the Trojans in the program, she led them to victories by winning consecutive national championships. The individual accomplishments of her have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross was who was a USC international relations student, was a volleyball star. Margie Ross wasn't able to watch her daughter's climb to beach volleyball fame. In 2001 when Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. As a result, Ross continues to be near to her mother who passed away. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her at and off the beaches.
