Amy Smart has been a model, actress and former American. Her modelling career began in Italy which is where she was raised before being born in California. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It was a long road for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller role. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting, as models aren't usually thought of as good actors. Models are often only given minor or unimportant roles. Amy persevered. She climbed the ladder to greater roles, starting in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Amy later stepped into lead parts in 2005's romance film Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy found her recognition after more than ten years of working. She did some big films within the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham. And she had a part in a series of recurring roles in The Shameless series.
